Work-group edition

This version allows 5 Client Access Licenses and more CALs cannot be added. The servers are installed on one machine and cannot be separated. Moreover, the use of external connectors is not allowed. It is suitable for small businesses.

Professional edition

This version is the same as the work-group function, the only difference being no limit on CALs. It also supports only one organization. Enterprise edition: This version does not have any limits, either for CALs or for organizations, the functionality being the same. Service provider edition

This edition is enterprise edition with one extra functionality and that is to accept Internal user requests from Active Dictionary and external user requests from Internet Facing Deployment.
